A testimony from Springfield.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve written a blog post. I’m not really sure how to summarize what I’ve learned in the last couple months. Honestly, it’s been pretty tough and really good. Time has proven that those two characteristics can, in fact, coexist beautifully. I’ve learned so much about really living.
Where ever you are, be there both physically AND mentally.
Fight for joy, peace, and everything else that the Father has promised us.
You can do anything, but you can only pour yourself into a few things. What’s the point of being involved in things that you can’t fully pour your heart into?
People are people. We are all completely different. Don’t try to be anyone else. Be you. Help others see and appreciate how beautifully unique they are.
It’s not about you.
Do the hard things. Because 1) those are the things that matter 2) you will grow.
Stay true to your convictions.
You are a co-heir with Christ. Jesus lived his life spending time with the Father and learning how to be a son. Put down your list of “things you need to do”. It’s about learning how to have a relationship. How to be a son/daughter. What does being a daughter look like?
If it’s good for someone else, it doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Know yourself.
Know the reality of people living with homelessness, then take a good look at your stuff.
Run. It’s fun. 🙂
It’s incredible how day in and day out you can read the same verses, but then one day you wake up and it all makes so much more sense. Understanding is purely a gift from God. “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints” Ephesians 1:18
“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.” Psalm 62:5
” Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” Ephesians 6:10-20
