Musings on Simplicity and Being Home

“To find your own voice as an artist, I feel you must appreciate everything, but love only a few.”

This yearning for simplicity hasn’t ceased. In all actuality it has probably become more of a need than I thought it would. I’ve been looking at everything with skeptic eyes, knowing everything will fade in time.

Home for Thanksgiving break – it’s such a nice change! I’ve spent my time studying editorial design, playing piano, filling boxes full of clothes and other things to give away, catching up on sleep, and simply enjoying being home. My mom baked homemade bread and my sister is coming home tomorrow! So excited! : )

Isaiah 55:2-3 “Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.”

Wow….when I read that verse today, it brought so much comfort. Exactly what I needed!

Isaiah 55:12 “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
